New Layout for Article Options.
The article options box was always displayed on the screen and took up space that would normally display the articles. Now that the standard computer has a much wider screen we've made the articles option section float on the page and moved it to the right. You can click to hide it too, plus it is now semi transparent incase it does still block something from view. This means the allocated page can be completely used by the news article. We didn't make the news article display the full width of the screen because very few people would like to read text that wide, so the article page is still left to display at around 1000 pixels.
Article Options - Expansion of Month Selection.
Our News Manager has always included an archives feature. This allows you to view articles from a specific month of the current year or articles from any previous years. This display fits nice and neatly in the right hand side column and provides quick access to specific periods. Now there is a further revision to this feature in that if you select a year, the display for the months is adjusted to reflect that year. This makes it much easier if you wish to view articles released in any month of any year.
Article Options - Addition of Top 5 Articles.
Some additional changes is the way the articles are displayed. By default now if you visit the News Bulletin page you are shown a summary of the latest 5 articles. Any searching you do (either using the month, year or keyword entry options) you are shown a summary of the relevant or matching articles. Each summary provides you the ability to view the full article.
This summary feature should help anyone locate specific articles easier than just viewing a list of headlines, or if the full article as that makes the page much longer so can potentially require lots of scrolling.
Another new display in the Article Options section is a Top 5 Articles. This displays links to the most viewed articles.
If you enter multiple key words (separated by a space) then you can use the All, Any and As Phrase ti indicate if All the words, Any of the words should be found, or if you wish to locate exact match (as phrase).
