So our new Portfolio 2 application utilizes a much larger photo gallery, that is based on our Multi Photo Gallery, but not only that, you can configure it to use a high resolution image for display and the application with automatically adapt and auto resize if someone chooses to view using a low resolution device. There is no stupid lightbox or zoom, simply view on a large screen resolution and you can see the highest resolution image that's been configured.
Each image can be accompanied by a caption and total freedom is available in entering the text.
A perfect usage for this application is for documenting projects or tests. For example you may be creative, so you could use this application to document each step of the process. The gallery can display all the images with a brief caption and then you can expand on the details using the text below. The text doesn't change between images, which means no page reloading, making the application more efficient.
One of the key differences between our Portfolio application and our Multi Photo Gallery application, is that the Gallery application is designed around assigning photos to categories and this does impose a limit on the number of galleries as to what is practical to display, where as our Portfolio application you actually create a record in the database for each entry, then you simply upload as many photos for that portfolio as required. The main screen / selection display is different to the gallery and it allows a lot more freedom with providing additional text and information. We are using this application on our website to provide information on photographic tests and comparisons. You can see it in action FROM THIS LINK.
To help showcase the new Portfolio application it has been configured to display some Projects and Tests we have conducted with Photography. There are currently two entries for you to have a look at and more will be added as time permits.
