The Company Profile
Murphy's Antique Restorations is situated on the corner of Alexander and High Street at Kippa-Ring on the Redcliffe Peninsula Queensland. Our 5,000 square foot workshop is fully equipped and fitted out to deal with all different types of restorations from badly storm damaged furniture to minor repairs and touch ups. Murphy's Antique Restorations currently has three generations of Murphys with over 100 years of combined experience and skills restoring antique furniture for antique dealers, upholsters, the Insurance Industry and from the general public.
Our machinery, combined with a huge spare parts and old timber storeroom, makes even the Un Restorable - Restorable.
The Brief
To develop a complementary website that reflects their business practices, plus be easy to navigate and read.
Clean, Clear and Concise.
Eventually they wish to incorporate a Complete Self Help system that will allow people to search through the vast amount of articles and tips that will be placed online, so that people will be able to resolve many of the small repair tasks themselves. (such as rejuvenation of furniture after flood / water damage).
They have now requested that the website can display all the furniture they currently have for sale, but they want all the furniture to be easy to search and sort, so that it is easy for customers to find what they want with just one or two clicks.
The Design Details
A website designed around a wood theme, utilizing artwork that represents items or activities which they utilize on a daily basis.
Being only a three page layout with limited information and details, no database or additional applications were required.
Pictures can be added or removed from the gallery manually and the same is also true for the content on the Questions page.
Our Product Manager has now been installed which provides them the ability to manage all their furniture and other products they wish to display online. Additional modifications and customisation has been made to the Product Manager to support some of the requested features.
New feature currently in development is a North Side Antique Trail application which will allow Murphy's Antique Restorations to manage all the links, information and advertising for all the antique stores which are part of the North Side Antique Trail. Future features will provide the ability to search for products from any of the antique stores. All from a single web page, so people will be able to search and then directly click to view that product from that antique stores website.
