The Company Profile
The RCAA is a male specific fishing club that is based in Redcliffe. They are a club associated with S.Q.A.F.C.A. and attend all of their events and competitions.
They hold numerous events and organised trips within the club, plus they have accommodation on Moreton Island which members and the general public can rent.
The Brief
To have a website similar in layout to the one we created for S.Q.A.F.C.A.
The website needs to allow information to be updated, such as committee, calendar and other key information files such as the constitution and to support the downloading of club newsletters.
The ability to manage pictures for a gallery and an application to handle the club house bookings and to display availability. The Club House has 3 units available.
Sponsors also need space on the website.
Need a clean looking website that is easy to navigate and to access all information. Many club members are not all computer literate.
The Design Details
Developing a clean and easy to navigate website was the first step, so the page was laid out as three distinct sections. That way the menu is clearly separated from the sponsor information which is clearly separated from the page content. Making sure the menu is easy to locate and navigate is the key and having the three sections ensures the website does not look to busy, as many websites often are which incorporate numerous columns and numerous duplicate menus.
Numerous unique applications were developed for them to manage their content. Other applications were customized to suit their needs.
The primary new application was the Booking Manager which allows people to submit booking requests for the club house units they have available for rental. This application was designed to allow easy booking request by simply clicking on the start and end date required from the supplied calendar.
